The burden of disease is not only borne by
the sufferers but by the society at large and the healthcare providers. This
burden is felt more severely in the low and medium-income regions of the
world. External intervention may not offer appreciable benefit in all
circumstances but targeted programmers to build social capital within such
regions are likely to be more sustainable.
By this means the basic oral health problems
can equitably be delivered to address the burden among people in developing
regions of the world. Education is fundamental to building knowledge-based
economies, which is often lacking in many developing economies. Therefore,
this website, hosted by an African dentist, is meant to be a source of
instructional packages for dental undergraduate and postgraduate students
trained in African countries and other developing countries of the world. It
is also meant to be a reference portal for scholastic reading materials on
dental education in developing
countries and their oral health problem.
